Jury Service

The term of jury service in Washington County is for a period of three months. You may be asked to appear more than once during the three month period you are on call. Some trials may last more than a day, but most trials in Washington County only last one day.

Contact Information

You will need to call 208-414-2093 every weekend during your term of service between Friday at 5 p.m. and Monday at 8:30 a.m. Listen carefully to the entire message. When calling in you will need to follow the instructions on the message. Please orally state your juror reporting number and last name after the beep at the end of the recorded message to confirm that you have called in.

Excused Time

During your term, do not feel like you have to put your life on hold. Let us know the Thursday prior to the week that you need to be excused for a vacation, having family in, doctors appointments, etc., so that we can excuse you for that block of time.

Pay

Jurors shall receive $10 for each one-half day or portion thereof, unless the juror travels more than thirty miles from his / her residence in which event he / she shall receive $10 for each one-half day or portion thereof; $20 for each full day. All jurors shall receive mileage fees for the round trip from his / her residence to the place of jury trial.
