Marriage Licenses

Once that big decision has been made (to whom and when), you will need to come see us.

WHERE TO APPLY FOR YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE

Marriage licenses are issued in the Recorder’s Office.
Physical address is 256 E Court, Room 20, Weiser, Idaho 83672
Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Phone number is (208) 414-2092.

It takes approximately 20 minutes for the entire process of issuing the license.
We request that you not come any later than 4:30 p.m.

A marriage in Idaho requires an Idaho Marriage License.
A marriage in another state requires a license from that state.

REQUIREMENTS IF YOU ARE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE

Two copies of the license are issued – one is for the couple; the other is sent or brought back to this office to be recorded.

REQUIREMENTS IF YOU ARE UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE

In addition to the above :

WHO CAN PERFORM THE WEDDING CEREMONY?  

A Judge, Mayor or Minister can perform the ceremony.

Judge Frates will perform marriages. You must make your own appointment with Judge Frates (208)414-2232.
